Ceci n'est pas une martini.

A French friend once told me a martini could only be called so if it consists of vodka or gin, and vermouth. Anything more than that, she said, is not a martini. As Margritte pointed out in the late 1920's, we would be lying if we called something that may not be, fact. This is a collection of my very own original creations.
Call them what you like.

Garlic Bread Martini

Vodka

Garlic juice

Olive juice

Breadcrumbs

Parmesan cheese

Red pepper flakes

Combine bread crumbs, grated cheese, and red pepper flakes on a shallow plate. Coat the rim of a martini glass with your fingers and coat the rim with the breadcrumbs. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees and let the breadcrumbs crisp for about 7-8 minutes. Allow the glass to cool.

Mix vodka, 1/2 tsp garlic juice, 1 tbsp olive juice in a shaker with ice. Pour into the cooled glass without disturbing the rim.

Classic Italian flavor. Pungent and crisp. You would swear it was the real thing.
