Ceci n'est pas une martini.

A French friend once told me a martini could only be called so if it consists of vodka or gin, and vermouth. Anything more than that, she said, is not a martini. As Margritte pointed out in the late 1920's, we would be lying if we called something that may not be, fact. This is a collection of my very own original creations.
Call them what you like.

Mira Aloe Nectar

1/2 lemon

Aromatic Bitters

Mix chilled aloe nectar, juice of 1/2 lemon, and 4 dashes of the Aromatic Bitters in a shaker. Give this a vigorous shake over ice. be careful to strain the lemon juice of the seeds. You will need to disregard your shaker’s strainer, so be sure to remove any seeds.

In the Middle Ages aloe was believed to be used primarily as a laxative. Currently, aloe is looked upon for skin healing benefits. Let’s keep it at that, and don’t blame any side effects on the martini.
